Presenter: Sherman Banks W4ATL
Sherman was first licensed while in high school in 1980. In 1982 he entered Georgia Tech and became an active member in the Georgia Tech Amateur Radio Club, where he became the Repeater Manager and later President. As an alumnus he continues to be active with the Georgia Tech Amateur Radio Club assisting student members with station operation and design . He is interested in DXing, Contesting and CW ragchewing.
Forum Description: This presentation will talk about the history of the Georgia Tech Amateur Radio Club from early spark transmissions at the dawn of wireless to space communication. Former member stories throughout the history of the club will be shared along with old shack locations and shack photographs.
